I was planning on doing a fancy intro to sound like I'm someone from up on high, but I'll be candid. I'm a lover of film and television. I've got a DVR full of different flicks, a collection of DVDs that, when stacked one on top of the other, are soon going to be halfway to hitting the ceiling. I'm regularly recommended certain films and TV shows and I regularly recommend films and TV shows. I'm essentially a walking, talking book of movie and TV trivia. And of strong opinions. That is why I have made this blog.
My tastes have crossed continents, languages, and mediums. I have watched films shown in the grindhouse, the arthouse, and the theaters of Hollywood from the 1910s to the 1990s. I watch animation, I watch live-action, I watch practically everything. With this bit of info, you are now armed with all you need to know about the contents of this blog.
This is a blog that aims to discuss film and television from around the world, from 20th century Hollywood, and from the independent film industry. From country to country, from niche genre to niche genre, and from mind to mind. This is the Offbeat Marquee, a place where film and television is celebrated and critiqued, no matter how iconic or obscure it may be.
